PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR


Rated as the 2nd largest General Contractor in Silicon Valley by the Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal, San Jose Construction Co., Inc., is seeking a highly-experienced Project Manager / Estimator for its Santa Clara Headquarters’ Office.

The Project Manager is the Company's "Management Representative" financially responsible for the successful / profitable completion of his / her projects.

Requirements:

  • 5 years minimum current experience in Commercial Construction, including, Retail Centers, MOBs, TIs, and concrete tilt-ups

  • Ability to direct all phases of construction from preliminary design development to project close-out

  • Ability to estimate projects with the highest level of detail and accuracy and control / project manage multiple projects and schedule deadlines

  • Generate and pursue new project leads and client relationships

  • Must be familiar with the Santa Clara Valley and Bay Area

  • Must have excellent communication skills and speak fluent English

  • References required

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER


San Jose Construction Co., Inc., is seeking a highly-experienced Assistant Project Manager to support a Sr. Project Management Team at our Monterey Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the co-management of multiple projects with a high proficiency

  • PRODUCTION AND TRACKING OF ALL PROJECT PAPERWORK: (General Contracts, Subcontracts, RFC's, Change Orders, Meeting Minutes)

  • Manage Submittal and RFI processes

  • Assist with all phases of construction administration and accounting

  • Interface with clients, architects, construction managers, and subcontractors

  • Manage document flow between clients, architects, and subcontractors to assist in achieving the successful and timely completion of projects

Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task and focus in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail-oriented and exceptional organizational skills

  • Highly professional written and verbal (phone) skills 

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Five years minimum experience in the Commercial Building Industry

  • Prefer Commercial General Contractor and Public Works' experience

  • Dependable with good attendance record and a team player

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and American Contractor

PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR


San Jose Construction Co., Inc., is seeking a talented, bright, very reliable and responsible person with a professional appearance and demeanor.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years State of California payroll experience

  • Solely responsible for all payroll and related activities necessary to process weekly payroll for an average of 100 employees, including compliance with and filing for all payroll tax reports

  • Maintain payroll and accruals for vacations, holidays, sick days, and miscellaneous leaves of absence

  • Calculate insurance deductions and maintain spreadsheets and reports

  • Administer voluntary and involuntary deductions, levies, and garnishments

  • Administer payroll related leave and benefits administration

  • Co-Administer 401K plan

  • Administer certified payroll reports

  • Prepare monthly union reports

  • Prepare special reports for management, as requested

  • Assist in A/R and A/P as later determined

  • American Contractor preferred
